Glossary:
Skinned Graphic - The picture of the template actually on the vehicle. Example to the left.
Step A
- Navigate to the category where your template should be located. So if we were going to upload the template used above, we would make sure we are in the "FORD" category. The file should be 1024 x 1024 pixels, other sizes can not be used without distortion or loss of quality and will be deleted.
- Once you are in the appropriate category, click the "Add Files Button" that looks like this
- A new screen will pop up and we need to fill out some information. Let's start with:
- Filename: Please include a short description and be sure to include what car it is for. DO NOT INCLUDE ANY SPECIAL CHARACTERS IN THE FILENAME, i.e ~[{|? and so on. For our example, we will use 05 Ford Mustang Cobrajet.
- Author: If you designed the skin, enter your username. Otherwise you can leave blank.
- Description: Enter a long description of the file in the WYSIWYG editor. Do not include any pictures in the box, ONLY TEXT. If you can't think of anything, just copy and paste what you entered in step 4 above.
- Category: Make sure the correct category is chosen.
- Pinned: DO NOT CHECK THIS
- Upload a file: You need to click "Browse" to find the actual template file. This should be the file the user is going to download and then upload to their vehicle in Car Town. For our example, we will upload the file that looks like
- Click "Add file" button. Your almost done, but don't forget to go to step B below. Your form should look similar to this example
IMPORTANT add picture of the skinned graphic on the vehicle! !
After you upload your file, you will be redirected to the actual listing of the file. You will notice about halfway down the page there is a input box to "Upload an Image" as seen here.
BEFORE YOU UPLOAD THE GRAPHIC : If you download the image from facebook, be sure to rename the image so the name is not long. If you upload your image and don't see a thumbnail, your image name is too long.
Upload an image of the skinned graphic on the actual vehicle. This gives users a preview of the skin.
For our example, we will upload this picture.
If you don't upload a preview of the skinned graphic on a vehicle or don't include a detailed description, your submission will be rejected.
In the end your download page should look like this:
With all of the submissions we receive, you may or may not be notified if we delete your submission.
