New download requirements

As many of you have noticed, the "10 posts to be able to download 10 skins per day" rule has changed. The requirement is now 30 posts and you must have been registered for at least 7 days before you can download a maximum of 10 skins per day. We are well aware that people are trying to spam post and revive long dead threads to leave inane comments, with the pure intention of boosting their post count to gain access to the downloads as fast as possible. We are watching for this behaviour and we WILL remove ALL posts of this nature, therefore reducing your post count and pushing you back. In extreme cases, you will receive a warning for your bahaviour and if that fails, YOU WILL BE BANNED. The vast majority of forum members can post normally and don't have to resort to spamming comments, so if they can do it, so can everyone else.

We have changed this because there were many members that just made ten posts and started to download without ever joining the fun in the other parts of the forum and others that registered to download and then post the skins on their own sites. We realise that it will not stop anyone from doing this, it will only slow them down a bit. What we hope to accomplish is that people will discover that there is more to this site than just a great collection of skins.

We want this site to be the best Car Town community on the web, not just a source of skins. We hope that the new download requirements will work as a deterrent against leechers that don't want to contribute anything to the community.

PLEASE NOTE: Upon reaching the download requirements of 30 posts & 7 days there may be a delay until the forum software recognises that you have qualified for access. This delay is beyond the control of the staff, please be patient until the system grants you access.

If you have reached the requirements and it still hasn't given you access AFTER 24 hours then please contact a member of staff directly via the private messaging system. DO NOT post a thread in the forum.

I got 1 misc. point for this day and 0 point yesterday while I get an average of 30 per day 1 week ago.. lol! Well I guess this new rule surely slowed them down huh.. however, if one of those template thieves completed the required 30 posts and I know for sure he was a member of this forum for more than seven days.. other people will no longer visit this forum and complete the required 30 posts because they can visit this Facebook page where they can download our latest work with no required number of posts.. It might mean death to our beloved forum.. Think about it guys..

Yeah, agreeing to "emlaureta"... They will always find a way to do their stuff... How about the people who doesn't talk that much? They might just put nonesense things here in order to get the quota. No offense to the new download requirement, it has some good things but there were also some downfalls on it.

For example, you met the 30 posts per day and you only downloaded 3 for today, does your download privilege roll over the next day? Also, made 28 posts for today, does it still roll over the next day to complete the 30? Just a thought.

The maximum number of downloads per day is fixed. I don't know what's the maximum number now. Let's say 20 per day, and you downloaded 5 today.. tomorrow you can still download up to 20 skins. 20 skins everyday (just an example, im not sure what's the limit now). Your posts are recorded everytime you posted something. You can see the total number of posts you made at the left side of your posted message or through your User CP. As of now I can see that you posted 14 times already, Im not sure how frequent they are being updated daily but every time you post the system automatically tally it, it wont show right away but soon it will.

i just wanna say the new rules have kinda made the forum into a spam-fest...even threads that haven't been replied to in a while are at the top of the lists..i had trouble looking for threads which were posted yesterday..

this is a silly idea. its going to over-run your forum with pointless posts and make it harder for the people who actually want to talk about it. i say 'your forum' as the game is something i do in my spare time and have no intention of sitting chatting about it for hours on end in order to download a few skins. guess im heading elsewhere

i too was wondering why i couldnt do anything
