《獨眼巨人博士》是由知名导演Ernest B. Schoedsack 执导的一部科幻片，阿爾伯特·德科 Thomas Coley Jani 等倾情出演，该片讲述了：　　"Dr. Cyclop s" is k  nown as one of the bett er &quo  t;early sci-fi"  ; films, made i n '39 and releas ed in 1940. (It is  also in co  lor. ) But while   the story has  potential and there  are some good mo  ments, this is a v ery con fused film.　　The plot is simple -  crazy m ad scientist on some remote i  sland can shrink animal  s, and w ants to try it  on humans  . He ma nage s this on a scientific team that came to  check things ou t. T hey get angry, and th e crazy  scientist eventually gets really angry b ecause hi s new shru nken subjects   won't coopera te.　　T he thing is, the fil m doesn't seem to know if it wants  to b e a thr iller, or  a g oofy movie. Dr. Cyc lops (never called that but refer enced to a Cycl ops after one lens in his  glasses breaks ) looks  cool i n his  "30's style  sci-fi helmet&q  uot; as he  performs e xperiments and can  be chil ling at tim es. But there i s so m uch "Disney-style  goofy musi c" going on that it is  hard to take anyth ing seriou sly. The mus ic belongs in a fami ly comedy for the mos t par t, and is played when t he shrunken people do th ings like t ry to su rvive, an d creep arou nd the  floor. Add that a fe w of them have pretty gruesome  deat hs and that just   adds to th e confusin g atmosphere.　　Th e FX aren&# 39;t so bad but not hing s pecial. The giant sets built are pretty impressive  though. There is a  scene where little fires ar e tossed at a real crocodile& #39;s head which probably made animal activists  ang ry.　　It also takes a long time for anything to re ally happen.  This movie cou ld have bee  n done in a nice   tight half-hour. Goo d for   a viewing,  but you probably w on't watch again.
